Steven Samuel Matthews

Mr. Steven Samuel Matthews, age 76, of Glasgow, Kentucky, formerly of Cub Run, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Barren County Nursing & Rehab in Glasgow. He was born on November 28, 1947, to the late Robert Carlos Matthews and Berta Francis Basil Matthews. He retired from Great Onyx Job Corps in 1997 as a Cook, a graduate of Hiseville High School, Class of 1965, a Gideons member, and a member of Salem Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son; Jason Matthews of Glasgow, two daughters; Amy Love of Park City and Stephanie Carter of Glasgow, six grandchildren; Jared Love, Shelby Love, Isaiah Love, Seth Love, Jasmine Matthews, and Lucas Carter. Two great-grandchildren Harrison and Rosie Love, a special cousin; Kaye Green and husband Larry of Park City, and the mother of his children; Wilma Kerr Allen of Park City also survive. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law; Vikki Matthews, a son-in-law; Robbie Love, and granddaughter; Ayana Michele. 

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday March 22, 2024, from Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, in Park City, Kentucky. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel in Cave City, and again on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.

Pallbearers: Jared Love, Isaiah Love, Seth Love, Jairo Rodriguez, Tanner Walker, and Mickey Payne.
