Mr. Robert Stephen Smith, age 58, of Cave City, Kentucky passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024, at the U of L Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Robert was born on July 14, 1965, to the late Jimmy Smith and Anna Duncan Smith. Robert was a 1983 graduate of Glasgow High School. He worked for the City of Cave City as Code Enforcement and City Manager until 2023. Robert also served as a Special Deputy for the Barren County Sherriff and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He is survived by a daughter Misty Smith and wife Ciara, one stepson Chad Martin and wife Tina, all of Cave City, two grandchildren: Morgan Gossett and husband Derek and Kennedy Horton. One great-grandchild, Colt Gossett, and two brothers; Tony Smith and Darrell Smith both of Glasgow also survive.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ann Turner Smith, and one brother, Darwin Smith.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in the Cave City Cemetery. Angela Briggs and Bobby Wood will be conducting the service.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday morning after 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cave City Cemetery in memory of Robert.
