Mrs. Lois Elmore Wells, age 83, of Cave City, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at TJ Samson Community Hospital surrounded by her family. Lois was born in Brownsville, Kentucky on February 4, 1940, a daughter of the late Robert and Vonnie (Woodcock) Elmore. She retired from Carhartt Industries, was a member of Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church, and had served as President of United Factory Garment Workers of America.
She is survived by two daughters: Lyvon Hayes (Gary Britt), Joyce Ann Wells (Clifton Parsley) all of Cave City. One sister; Ethel Elmore of Sweeden Kentucky. Four grandsons; Bobby D. Hayes (Casey) of Glasgow, Larry D. Minor (Marcie) of Bowling Green, Tyler Tapscott (Elaina), and Joshua Tapscott, both of Ohio, seven great grandchildren Cason Hayes, Jonathan & Kaili Minor, Chloe, Hayden, Mia & Steven Thomas also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Abraham Wells, Jr., one sister, Evelyn Carnes, one brother, Franklin Elmore, and three nephews: Anthony Elmore, Kevin Elmore, and Chris Hayse.
Visitation will be held on Monday January 1, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel. There will be no visitation prior to services on Tuesday.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 12:30 C.S.T. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery in Radcliff, Kentucky with interment to follow. Bro. Trevent Hayes Will conduct the services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Mrs. Lois Wells.
