Jerry Wayne Wood

Mr. Jerry Wayne Wood, age 78, of Scottsville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at his residence in Scottsville. Jerry was born on November 8, 1945, in Cork, Kentucky to the late Maxine (Shoultz) Gilbert and Raymond Junior Wood. He graduated from Glasgow High School and attended Western Kentucky University where he grew a passion for graphic design. He worked for over 40 years in the printing industry and retired in 2007. He later worked with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife as a Krill Surveyor. Jerry was a member of Lakeway Baptist Church, a founding Member, and a former board member of Barren River Rod and Gun Club. A member of American Mountain Men, Hog Turd Alley Men's Association, Stump Bluff Militia, The Corp of Kentucky Long Riflemen, and The Widow Makers. He was also an Avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife Deena Hancock Wood of Scottsville, Kentucky; one son Jason Wood, and wife Lori of Vancouver, Washington; one daughter Brandy Harwood, and husband Trey of Holland, Kentucky; four grandchildren; Hunter Harwood of Scottsville, Kentucky, Emma Bryant and husband Tanner of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Olivia Harwood of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Jacob Wood of Vancouver, Washington. One great-granddaughter Locklynn Harwood also survives.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2024, at Lakeway Baptist Church in Scottsville, Kentucky. Bro. Kent Holland will officiate the service.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lakeway Baptist Church. And again, on Friday, September 27, 2024, after 10:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeway Baptist Church. 

A private burial will take place at a later date at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lakeway Baptist Church Building Fund or Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
