Jeffery Edward Denton

Mr. Jeffery Edward Denton, age 55, of Horse Cave, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Jeff was born in Glasgow, Kentucky, on January 13, 1969, a son of the late Fred and Leona (Poynter) Denton. He was a 1987 graduate of Caverna High School, he enjoyed watching football, fishing with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Jeffery had a kind and caring personality and was loved by all, most of all he loved the Lord. Jeff was a member of Servant Valley Baptist Church in Cave City.

He is survived by two sons, A.J. “Aaron” Denton and wife Angelia of Columbia, and Eric Denton and wife Amanda of Pine Knot, three grandchildren, Benjamin Denton, Wailon Denton and LiaBelle Denton, one nephew, Ethan Durham, and one great-nephew, Archie Lee Durham. The mother of his children, Selena Denton, one Aunt, Marie Coates, along with several other nieces, nephews and a host of extended family also survive.

In addition to his parents, Fred Denton and Leona Poynter, he was preceded in death by his wife Kathy Sturgeon.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel in Cave City, with burial to follow in Cave City Cemetery. Robbie Ward and Eric Denton will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m.
