Janet Lee Ross

Mrs. Janet Lee (Esters) Ross, age 85, of Cave City, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.  Janet was born in Hart County, Kentucky on March 28, 1938, a daughter of the late Owen Willard and Sylvia (Davis) Esters.  Janet was a Beautician, having owned and operated her own salon for several years before her retirement.  She enjoyed quilting, and cross stitching, and was a Member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church, and the Red Hatter’s Society.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Charles Robert Ross, her children, Barbara Ann Sell and husband Jerry of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Michael C. Ross, of Horse Cave, and Charles Dale Hack and wife Kristine of West Land, Michigan. Five grandchildren, Malcolm Sell and wife Melissa, Jason Sell and wife Misty, Marcus Sell and wife Shannon, Melissa Ross, and Tyler Hack and wife Alexa, her beloved Dachshund, Jack, along with twelve great-grandchildren, a niece, Barbara Sue Esters, and two nephews, Brian and Douglas Esters Jr. also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Carrie Esters, and one brother Douglas Esters and his wife Beverly.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.  Bro. Vernon Johnson will officiate the services.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2023, and continue Monday Morning after 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers: Malcolm Sell, Jason Sell, Matthew Sell, Nicholas Sell, Marcus Sell, and Melissa Ross.
