Ms. Dawn Shank, age 62, of Cave City, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Norton’s Women and Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 21, 1959, a daughter of the late Carol (Edward) Perry and Bill Shank. Dawn was a graduate of Western Kentucky University where she majored in Arts & Photography. She was the owner and operator of Dawn’s Addiction, where she sold antiques and made purses, dolls, and doll clothing.
She is survived by her father, Bill Shank, of Indianapolis, her companion of thirty-five years, Johnny Waddell, and three children: April Ginez and her husband Pablo, Eric Sturgeon, all of Cave City, and Patricia Sturgeon and her husband Brian of Smiths Grove. Six grandchildren, Bianca, Cody, Alexis, Johnathon, Erika, and Sasha also survive.
In addition to her mother, Carol Perry, she was preceded in death by a brother; Joe Green, and one stepsister Dawn Michelle Shank.
Funeral Services will be conducted from Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022, with a private burial in the Cave City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time for service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may take the form of donations to BRAWA. Those may be made at the funeral home.
