Collie Benton Wilson

Mr. Collie Benton Wilson, age 83, of Cave City, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at his home. Collie was born in Barren County on September 17, 1940, a son of the late Robert and Pauline (Francis) Wilson.  He retired from Higdon’s Chevron and The Mammoth Cave Hotel, he was a graduate of Park City High School, Class of 1959, and was a member of The Cedar Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Mary Lee “Sugar” Borden Wilson, Two children, Benny Wilson and wife Carla of Smiths Grove, Connie Jewell and husband Steve of Cave City, Five grandchildren, Benton Cole Wilson, Steve Jewell Jr., Taylor Riggs and husband Kyle, Weston Taylor and LB, and Brittany Murphy and husband Donald.   Six great-grandchildren, Kendall, Kinsley and Jackson Riggs, Layla Simmons, Kaitlyn Taylor, and Ryder Murphy. Two brothers, Eugene Wilson, and Odell Wilson, one sister, Betty Sue Coffey, two brothers in law, Ernie Borden, and Roger Deweese along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Dee Wilson, James Robert Wilson, Marion Wilson, Kenneth Wilson, three sisters, Annabelle Martin, Frances Taylor, Mary Lou Deweese, Three Brothers in law, Virgil Martin, Richard Coffey, and Charlie Harper, Six sisters in law, Judy Harper, Kathy Wilson, Ruth Wilson, Betty Jo Wilson, Nancy Wilson, Virginia Wilson, and his mother-in-law, Mary Frances Chapman Borden.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from the Bob Hunt Funeral chapel, with interment to follow in Cave City Municipal Cemetery. Bro. Carey Brooks will officiate the services.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel in Cave City, and again on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
